ChemStation Plus Patch : Update.exe, chip.ini

                                IMPORTANT

THIS INSTALLATION REQUIRES THE MICROSOFT .NET FRAMEWORK. 
Please make sure that it is available.

Please review the following installation instructions thoroughly before
proceeding with the installation. The Installation of this patch requires 
knowledge of using Microsoft Windows, i.e. creating folders, deleting/copying
files using the File Manager or Windows Explorer.

In case of an upgrade installation from Rev. A. ChemStation to Rev. B.01.01
ChemStation, be aware, that the path statements refer to HPCHEM instead
of CHEM32.

After each reinstallation of ChemStation software or after adding an 
additional instrument you have to install this Patch release again.

Installing your patch
---------------------   

1)      LAUNCH TASKMANAGER AND VERIFY THAT NO APPLICATIONS ARE RUNNING
          
     
2)      Double click on the executable file "Update.exe" 
        to install the updated chip.ini file.

	You might need to update the Microsoft .NET framework first.
	Please visit the the Microsoft homepage to do so.

        The installer program checks automatically for the presence of 
        MassHunter (B.01.02 and later) 
        and Chemstation (revisions B.01.01 - B.03.01)        

        Chemstation only:
        Please verify that the file attribute of the chip.ini file
        is set to read-only. In order to verify, please right-mouse click 
        on the chip.ini file, select "Properties" and on the "General" Tab 
        locate the read-only box on the bottom. Verify that the tickmark 
        is set, otherwise set the read-only tickmark.

*The Version indicates the version of the chip.ini file and the number
will increase which each new chip revision. To locate open the cip.ini file
and the revision number is stated at the top.

Uninstall of the updated file needs to be performed manually, by replacing
the update files in the specified path with the renamed original one.

IMPORTANT NOTE: After each reinstallation of MassHunter or ChemStation 
                software it is necessary to reinstall this update again.

Installation and operational Qualification for non-qualified systems
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

No additional IQ/OQ is required besides the standard procedure.




Installation Qualification for previously qualified Chemstation systems
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
 

   1. Start the ChemStation Installation Qualification program.

   2. The status of the test is PASS if the 

      qualification fails with the following exceptions:
